Ready, Set, Go!

So here I am, with 36 days remaining before flying to Shanghai, all the major “to-do” have been done: job, condo, car, furniture, warehouse, accounts, family, friends, dog, etc, etc, etc.

Not sure what the destiny has in shop for me, but I’m all set to discover that, all set to blaze a path out of mess. Coincidentally, I found out that more and more people that I know are also migrating or planning to migrate to Shanghai. There must be something unique about this city that attracts so many foreigners, inside and outside of China.

One thing is sure: no place on Earth is “hip” forever. Over the centuries, so many other cities have been the “center of Universe” for a certain time, such as Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Milan, Prague, Venice, Berlin, and so on; but now is the time of glory for Shanghai. Without any doubt, the glory will end one day, but then I might not live long enough to see that…

By the way, I just heard friends telling me that the Shanghai subway is pretty crazy in terms of “unconfortness” during rush hour, obviously because there are way too many people out there. I must admit that I’m a little bit scared, having worked at home over the pass two years, in the confort of my home-office and the company of my dog, very soon I’ll have to wrestle with an army of “subway-pushers” and “bus-runners” every morning and evening, not sure if I’ll really amused by the radical differences… Needless to say, such minor challenge can not touch my determination!!!
