Feeling HOT HOT HOT!
It’s been the 21st days in the row that the temperature at Shanghai is above 35 °C, with the record of 39.6 °C for 3 days already. I already forgot the day where walking on the street doesn’t feel like being burned by the sun, and sleeping at home with the windows opened. It’s now becoming the most common conversation subject: “damn it’s so hot!”, “do you keep the AC on while sleeping?”, “I’m dying of heat at home/work.”, etc, etc, etc.
Not only are the weather and heat becoming a hot conversation subject, but it’s often a subject of newspaper headline as well. I’ve captured some photos shown on Shanghai Daily lately…

Lots of people don’t have AC installed at home, some people can’t afford opening AC the whole night, some people have temperature conflict between family members… As for me, I can’t stand a minute at home without AC.

Geezz that’s hot. I was in SH a few weeks ago and the temperature drive me crazy, is hot all the time, even at midnight ! After a night out with some friend we took the cab home and my friend an I was sitting in the back and we were going crazy even with the AC on ! In Chengdu the first thing I do when I gat home after turning on my lap top is open my AC and I keep that running all night.
My boss who live with his wife parents have this discussion about the perfect temperature. For his mother in law it should be 25 degree but for him is 22 (his canadian)! They could’nt agree, older generation think that too cold is not good for the body, a little like my mom who could’nt sleep with AC on.
